Picked up Mario Kart Wii two nights ago and have played a couple of hours so far. I'll post more pros and cons and maybe a final review later (when I start webcasting in June maybe?). But for now, there are some things I REALLY like and some other things I am still WTFing about.
What do you guys all think of the game based off what you have played? Post your opinions as a comment, I would love to read them.

I've never been a racing fan, much less a fan of Mario Kart. I'm glad I picked this game up for $20 (yea, trade-ins!), otherwise I don't think I would have gotten it. =/
The multiplayer however is great. More WFC games should be like Mario Kart's online multiplayer.
As far as the Wii Wheel goes...I hate it. It seems to do more damage than benefit. I prefer any other control style but that one. =|
I live in the UK and have had this for a while now (not trying to rub it in, just remember that we don't get Brawl until June 27th). Although I like the game, I've never really been that into Mario Kart. I never had it on the SNES, I played it on the N64 and it was fun and I played Double Dash on my sister's Gamecube. The first Mario Kart I actually owned was Mario Kart DS.
That said I find Mario Kart Wii a very mixed bag. My initial reaction was that it was poor. I felt a bit let down by the graphics (which Ok, you shouldn't get your hopes up too much on the Wii, but I thought compared to Metroid or Mario Galaxy it was poor).
Anyway, the proof is in the pudding and on the first night I must have spent nearly 4 hours solid just on Wifi play. It's addictive as hell and really fun.
However...
It's frustrating. Never have I played a game that made me rage so bad. I get so worked up by how the CPU cheats so bad (multiple blue shells during one race, or getting taken out by 2 or 3 power ups consecutively if you are in the lead).
I was a little disappointed to see the 2 player vs Wifi dropped to 30 fps. It's a big hit when you are used to 60fps single player. I think if they kept it 8 player then maybe that wouldn't have been an issue. Also if it had been 8 player, then there would have been more racing rather than everyone spamming powerups.
I'm in agreement about the graphics. They're pretty muddy for this title. Very disappointing.
